Extra Yachts has introduced its latest project, the X70 Shadow, a 21-metre GRP planing yacht, marking the introduction of a new line for the Italian builder.
Designed inside and out by Lorenzo Berselli of Agon Studio, the X70 Shadow is a high-performance day cruiser and support vessel intended to serve a range of roles, from rapid transfers and excursions to providing additional capabilities to a mothership.
The boatbuilder, part of Palumbo Superyachts, which recently opened a new shipbuilding facility on the Adriatic, highlights that the X70 Shadow project combines “performance, load capacity, modularity, and a contemporary lifestyle.”
Despite its compact footprint, the yacht offers flexible, spacious layouts that adapt to guest and operational needs. The stern features a 40-square-metre area configurable to accommodate a 5.2-metre jet tender, two Jet Skis, and two motorcycles, or a 6.5-metre daysailer and two Jet Skis.
This space can also be turned into a lifestyle zone with freestanding furniture. A separate, covered storage area accommodates additional toys and can be converted into a gym.
The exterior layout includes a spacious cockpit reached via amidship steps, offering an outdoor galley, dining area, and lounge. Folding bulwarks expand the deck space and views, and an enclosed dining area with panoramic views sits forward.
The X70 Shadow offers two versions below deck: the “Shadow” version with crew cabins, galley, and one or two guest cabins for mothership support, and the “Pleasure” version, with up to four guest cabins for independent cruising.
Performance is set to come from twin Volvo Penta IPS D13 1350 engines, each delivering 1,000hp, delivering a top speed of 30 knots and cruising speed of 26 knots.
