DiMillo’s Yacht Sales acquires Hunt Yachts assets

DiMillo’s Yacht Sales has acquired selected assets of Hunt Yachts from Hinckley. The agreement includes an exclusive licence with Ray Hunt Design to use the Hunt brand name in production boatbuilding.

DiMillo’s Yacht Sales is based in Portland, Maine. The company operates across yacht sales, brokerage, marina services, maintenance and storage in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions of the United States.

Under the arrangement, vessels will be marketed globally as Hunt Yachts by DiMillo’s. The brand originates from Ray Hunt Design, the naval architecture firm associated with the development of the deep-V hull.

The Hunt Yachts Ocean Series includes models ranging from 56ft to 76ft (17m-23m), offered in flybridge and express configurations. Construction is carried out by Global Yacht Builders in Taiwan, which has built the Ocean Series since 2008. Current builds include two 56ft flybridge models and one 63ft flybridge model.

The range will sit alongside other brands represented by DiMillo’s Yacht Sales, including Sabre Yachts, Back Cove Yachts, Tiara Yachts and MJM Yachts.

“We were honoured to have been asked by the team at Hinckley and Hunt Yachts to explore this opportunity to acquire Hunt Yachts,” says Chris DiMillo, founder of DiMillo’s Yacht Sales. “As a Hunt owner myself, I have a deep personal appreciation for the brand’s design, performance, and heritage. It is both an honour and a privilege to be the steward of this iconic brand going forward. My team is ecstatic about this next chapter – what Hunt Yachts will bring to DiMillo’s, and what we will bring to the brand and Hunt Yachts family.”

Gavin McClintock, chief executive of Hinckley, adds: “DiMillo’s is exceptionally well-positioned to carry Hunt Yachts forward, and we’re genuinely pleased to see the brand in their hands.

“They bring deep expertise, longstanding customer relationships, and a shared commitment to quality that aligns naturally with Hunt’s heritage. For Hinckley, this transition allows us to focus on our core strengths of American craftsmanship, enduring design, and a highly personalised ownership experience, as we continue to invest in the future of Hinckley Yachts and Hinckley Yacht Services.”

The announcement was timed to coincide with the Palm Beach International Boat Show, which ran 25-29 March 2026, where DiMillo’s Yacht Sales displayed a Hunt 63 Flybridge.
