Flexiteek drives global quality push through cross-network collaboration initiative

Synthetic decking specialist, Flexiteek, has embarked on a cross-network collaboration project this month.

Coby Wilson, production manager at Advanced Marine Decking (UK distributor of Flexiteek synthetic teak decking), worked on-site at Navale’s Australian facility this month, supporting live production and installation projects. Navale is Flexiteek’s Australian commercial partner.

The cross-regional initiative is designed to support Flexiteek’s high standards across all markets. The initiative focused on refining fabrication techniques, improving workflow efficiency and enhancing finishing detail in real time.

Garry Boomer, general manager at Navale, says: “Having Coby here has been hugely valuable. It’s not about reinventing what we do, but refining it – and having someone with that level of hands-on experience working alongside the team day-to-day really helps lift the standard across the board.”

The collaboration covered the full lifecycle of a Flexiteek deck, including fabrication, welding, installation and quality control, ensuring a well-rounded transfer of expertise across a range of project types.

Wilson adds: “It’s been great to spend time with the team at Navale and get involved in some of the projects they’ve got underway. There’s a strong setup here and a good attention to detail, which makes a big difference when working with Flexiteek. It’s been a really productive few weeks all round.”

By encouraging practical, on-site collaboration, Flexiteek says it can ensure consistent standards across regions while supporting continuous improvement at a local level.

This collaboration initiative follows a ‘value-driven phase’ of growth for Flexiteek. The company recently expanded its operations in the United States with new appointments at Flexiteek USA.

Flexiteek has organised a number of joint collaborations in the past to share best practice and support distributors. These have included Advanced Marine Decking and other distributors feeding into the production of the training programme content that Flexiteek uses globally. Flexiteek has also collaborated with distributors to showcase at boat shows, while distributors have also teamed up at shows – Denmark and France distributors working together at Cannes and both UK distributors working together at SIBS, for example.

Operating through a connected global distributor network, Flexiteek enables its partners to share knowledge, align processes and deliver a uniform standard of quality regardless of where a deck is produced or installed.
