There are yacht launches, and then there are moments that signal a brand’s next chapter. The first Itama 70 entering the water at Ferretti Group’s Ravenna facility is one of those moments, arriving as the second model in Itama’s renewal programme and blending familiar styling cues with a fresh approach to comfort, liveability and performance.
With a length overall of 21.23-metres and a beam of 5.30-metres, Itama 70 is the result of collaboration between the Ferretti Group product strategy committee and the group’s engineering department. The exterior styling is by Vallicelli Design and the interiors are by IdeaeItalia.
Itama 70 retains the distinctive features that have given the brand its iconic status, including the sunpad in the bow and the side windows that run the length of the hull.
The news comes after Ferretti Group approved its unaudited consolidated financial information for the period ending 31 March 2026, reporting lower revenue and order intake compared with the same period in 2025.
It’s been a tumultuous time for the Italian boatbuilder, after shareholders backed China’s Weichai Group, and confirmed the departure of CEO Alberto Galassi after 12 years in the role. Stassi Anastassov has been appointed as chief executive officer.
How the layout improves onboard living
At the stern, the movable beach area can accommodate and launch a 3.25m tender. The sunpad has an integrated backrest to create continuity between the living areas. The U-shaped dining area is completed by a table with a teak top positioned opposite the wet bar (which can be converted into a chaise longue by adding a cushion). Ferretti says the total effect is an ideal setting for relaxation at the water’s edge.

There’s a helm station on the port side with seating for two. The console on this first unit features two 16-inch chartplotter touch displays. Access to the bow area is through a passageway in the centre of the windscreen, while the entrance to the lower deck is on the far starboard side.
The layout features three cabins, including a master cabin aft, all with en suite bathrooms, as well as a corner galley and a dinette designed to enhance liveability below deck.
The first Itama 70 is fitted with the optional engine package of two MAN V12 units rated at 1,550 hp, powering the boat to a top speed of 40 knots and a cruising speed of 35 knots (preliminary data). The yacht is also equipped with a Seakeeper NG14 gyroscopic stabiliser.
The launch aligns with Ferretti Group’s wider focus on refreshing and expanding its product offering across brands, with the company intending to continue launching new models while anticipating market trends.
Beyond the launch itself, the Itama 70 offers a clearer indication of where Ferretti Group sees opportunity in the open performance segment: preserving recognisable brand DNA while quietly modernising layout, comfort and onboard technology to meet changing owner expectations.
