The 62m sailing superyacht Simena has departed the Ares Yachts shipyard in Antalya, Turkey, and is travelling to Monaco for the start of its first Mediterranean season.
Simena – a 62-metre classically inspired ketch-rigged sailing yacht launched in July 2025 – is the first superyacht from Turkish shipyard Ares Yachts. It features a steel-carbon composite build, exterior design by Taka Yacht Design, alongside a contemporary interior by Design Unlimited.
The yacht is scheduled to berth at the Explorer Dock at the Yacht Club de Monaco marina on 22 March 2026, as part of the club’s Day of Exploration programme. Simena is expected to remain at the dock from 23 to 24 March and will take part in activities, including a regatta organised for the event.
Simena arrives in Monaco with SEA Index certification, an environmental benchmark for large yachts developed by the Yacht Club de Monaco and verified by Lloyd’s Register.
The yacht has also been nominated for the sixth Yacht Club de Monaco Explorer Awards, organised by La Belle Classe Superyachts. The ceremony is scheduled for 24 March. The awards programme, established in 2019, recognises projects and owners using yachts for exploration, scientific work, technological development or environmental initiatives.
Simena uses a hybrid propulsion system designed to operate in six different modes. In electric mode, the vessel can cruise at speeds of up to 8 knots. The system provides a range of approximately 6,000 nautical miles when travelling at 7 knots.
When operating on diesel power, the yacht reaches a top speed of 14 knots and has a cruising range of around 4,000 nautical miles at 9 knots.
Accommodation is arranged for up to 12 guests and nine crew members. The owner’s suite is located forward on the main deck.
With a length of 62m, Simena ranks among the 25 largest sailing superyachts currently in operation worldwide. The vessel is currently for sale with an asking price of €45.9m.
