Boating meets gaming: Roblox adds Brunswick boats to Driving Empire game

Gaming studio Voldex has partnered with Brunswick Corporation to introduce a boating feature within the Roblox title Driving Empire. The update, titled ‘Big Splash’, is scheduled to launch today (20 March 2026).

Driving Empire is a racing simulation game on the wildly popular Roblox platform, featuring over 200 licensed vehicles from brands like Lamborghini, McLaren, Porsche and even Lego.

Before the update, three vessels were available in the game: the 2012 Benli Super Yacht, which is based on Lurssen’s 136-metre Flying Fox, recently renamed Hadar, and is the most expensive vehicle in the game. Also available are the 2001 Yamama Marine Sport and 2003 Yamama C3 Convertible.

From this week, players will be able to unlock and operate a selection of boats from the Brunswick Boat Group portfolio. These include the Boston Whaler 170 Montauk and Boston Whaler 420 Outrage, the Bayliner VR6 Bowrider and the Heyday WT Surf. Additional vessels are expected to be added throughout the year.

Driving Empire has become a must-play destination for automotive enthusiasts on Roblox, and we’re excited to expand the experience onto the water in partnership with the world’s leading marine manufacturer,” says Stephen Wanigesekera, senior licensing manager at Voldex. “This collaboration introduces a completely new dimension of gameplay while bringing authentic boating experiences to millions of players.”

Jamie Evans, vice president of marketing, Brunswick Boat Group, says: “Our mission is to increase access to boating and grow participation in the on-water lifestyle. Partnering with Voldex allows us to introduce our award-winning brands to Roblox’s large and highly engaged enthusiast audience in a fun, immersive way. This collaboration not only brings boating to a new generation but also creates a year-round, interactive presence for our brands within Driving Empire.”

One prominent Driving Empire YouTuber, CarterDaCar, has uploaded a video (available above) exploring the ‘Big Splash’ updates. CarterDaCar is evidently not impressed by the Brunswick partnership, however, admitting that: “Really quickly, I want to show you all the licensed boats. So right here, these are the two licensed boats. I am sure a lot of you guys watching could [not] care less though if it’s licensed or not, because you probably don’t know about real boat brands. Me personally, I don’t know much about real boat brands either. So, to me, it doesn’t matter if it’s licensed or not licensed. But for those who do care, these are licensed boats.”

This attitude, however, is arguably one of the good reasons Brunswick is keen to get its name out and better known across the platform, which is typically most used by those in the 9 to 16 age range, who could be viewed as future boat buyers.
