Dubai International Boat Show 2026 postponed, dates shifted permanently

Organisers of the Dubai International Boat Show have confirmed that this year’s edition, originally scheduled for 8-12 April 2026, has been postponed. The show will now take place from 25-29 November 2026 at Dubai Harbour.

Going forward, the show will take place in November each year.

A public statement issued by show organisers, Dubai World Trade Centre, about the change says: “The revised dates align the event with the start of the Middle East’s prime boating season, creating stronger market conditions for launches, sales and international participation.

“The November edition will also mark the permanent repositioning of the Dubai International Boat Show to the November calendar annually, reinforcing Dubai and the UAE’s role as a strategic regional hub for the marine leisure industry.”

The end of uncertainty about the show’s status and confirmation of a new date have been welcomed by many in the industry, as the city navigates a challenging time.

“Sending prayers and thoughts to our partners, customers and leads in the GCC region. See you safe and in peace in November,” reads a LinkedIn comment by Davide Burrini, Propspeed EMEA sales director.

The new November slot adds to a busy period for boat shows in the region, including the Abu Dhabi International Boat Show, which takes place from 19-22 November 2026; the Qatar Boat Show, which takes place from 4-7 November 2026; and the Dubai Pre-Owned Boat Show, which usually takes place in early November at Dubai Creek Marina.

Ongoing conflict in the Middle East causes major disruption

The news comes as conflict in the Middle East continues to cause disruption across the region, with tens of thousands of residents and tourists leaving the United Arab Emirates since the US and Israel began bombing Iran in late February, and many others facing travel chaos.

The UAE has positioned itself as a stable, tax-efficient hub for international business and marine investment. In recent years, the region’s leisure marine sector has expanded significantly, supported by marina development, yacht manufacturing and high-net-worth inward migration.

Dubai Boat Show organisers did not allude to the conflict in their public statement. While Dubai and the wider UAE have been directly impacted by the war, with missile debris falling across the region and direct damage to infrastructure in Dubai, Emirati leaders are working hard to regain control of the region’s image as a safe haven for tourists and workers. Local influencers have been warned they could face fines or even prison if they post about the conflict.

A British citizen was reportedly arrested in Dubai on Monday (9 March 2026) after allegedly filming footage of missiles, according to campaign group Detained in Dubai. It is not known if the footage was shared on social media.

Dubai residents received at least two missile alerts on Wednesday night (11 March 2026), and residents were evacuated after a drone fell onto a building in Creek Harbour, a residential tower development.
