Following a commercial agreement with Karver and the acquisition of XPO, Italy’s Antal Group has formed a strategic technical collaboration with Ropeye, the manufacturer of composite and textile components.
The strategic collaboration with Ropeye aims to provide Antal with a 360-degree mutual offering on selected projects, particularly in the racing sector.
Among many projects in the racing sector, Ropeye is one of the leading companies supplying components for the IMOCA 60 Class. Founded in 2012, the company’s manufacturing facility is located in Tallinn, while the company’s headquarters and entrepreneurial base is between Padua and Milan.
Earlier this year, Ropeye appointed Kingfisher Yacht Ropes as a sales partner for its marine hardware portfolio in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
Antal is increasingly present in the racing sector, with a significant foothold in the Class 40 segment.
Antal’s commercial agreement with Karver focuses on the customer portfolio and includes the potential to mutually expand both companies’ catalogues with a broader range of products. The XPO acquisition enables Antal to make more inroads into the French market.
Enrico Gomiero from Antal says: “First of all, I believe this strategic agreement is a great story of how two companies from the same area, Padua, have decided to combine their expertise to strengthen a path of international growth in the sailing world, where technological innovations and new materials are driving an important acceleration of change. I also want to emphasise how deeply Antal believes in the quality and research that Ropeye puts into its products.”
Giovanni Licursi from Ropeye adds: “The collaboration with the Antal Group represents a strategic step of great value for Ropeye. We share a common vision based on research, innovation and absolute focus on performance, especially in the racing world, where every detail makes a difference. Antal is a partner with a strong industrial history, a deep technical culture and an international presence that aligns perfectly with the growth path we are pursuing.
“Combining our expertise means we can offer increasingly integrated, lightweight and high-performance solutions, meeting the needs of the most advanced projects while keeping our outlook constantly open to global innovation.”
Padua-based Antal was founded in 1977 by Gastone Carraro. The Carraro family led Antal for over 45 years. More recently, the Gomiero family and Bruno family entered into the company’s shareholding structure through a joint venture.
Enrico Gomiero brings with him a technical and financial background developed through extensive managerial experience in multinational companies. Renato Bruno brings significant entrepreneurial expertise from various sectors (some of which are synergistic with Antal’s production activities), including Bruno Generators Group.
Antal offers a catalogue that caters to every need, featuring a complete range of deck hardware. This includes both standard and custom solutions designed to meet the requirements of small recreational boats and superyachts, whether for cruising or racing.
Antal has a network of distributors in 21 countries worldwide and collaborates with leading Italian and international sailing shipyards.
