RAD Propulsion partners with Charged Marine to support US expansion

RAD Propulsion, a UK-based developer of electric marine propulsion systems, has appointed Charged Marine to support its expansion in the North American market.

The appointment follows the opening of a RAD Propulsion office in Charleston, South Carolina, towards the end of 2025, marking the firm’s entry into the US market.

Charged Marine is a US-based electric marine platform focused on supporting the adoption of electric vessels and related infrastructure. The company works with OEMs, propulsion providers, marinas and operators on market entry, partnerships and commercialisation across North America.

Under the agreement, Charged Marine will provide market development, business engagement and go-to-market support. RAD Propulsion says this work will bolster its commercial activities in the United States and Canada, alongside the development of its US-based manufacturing, product development and sales teams.

“North America represents a significant growth opportunity for RAD Propulsion,” said Simon Payne, sales director at RAD Propulsion. “As demand for zero-emission marine solutions continues to grow, it’s critical that we have strong local expertise on the ground. Charged Marine brings unique industry knowledge, especially related to infrastructure and trusted relationships that will help us engage OEMs and operators more effectively.”

RAD Propulsion supplies scalable electric propulsion systems intended for a range of marine applications. The firm’s electric propulsion systems are in service in several international markets.

“RAD Propulsion has established itself as a technology leader in electric marine propulsion,” says Ollie Danner, founder of Charged Marine. “Our role is to support RAD’s North American strategy by facilitating introductions, advancing pilot opportunities, and helping convert market interest into long-term commercial relationships.”

Planned activities under the agreement include engagement with OEMs, fleet and commercial operators, marinas and other industry participants. Charged Marine will also support demonstrations and pilot programmes to assess market demand and support wider adoption of RAD’s engines in the US.
