Sleipner Motor establishes Croatian subsidiary

Sleipner Motor, the Norwegian marine thruster and stabiliser specialist, is establishing a wholly owned subsidiary in Croatia, extending its presence in the Adriatic market.

Sleipner, which was acquired by Norwegian investment firm AWC earlier this month, has worked in the country for several decades through a partnership with local distributor AC Yachting, which has provided sales and service support for Sleipner products.

In recent years, Sleipner and AC Yachting have discussed succession arrangements as AC Yachting founder Antun Cismic prepares for retirement. “We’re now at a point where it feels natural for both parties to take the next step,” says Marius Torjusen, chief commercial officer at Sleipner.

“Working with Sleipner has been a privilege,” says Cismic. “Even though I’m planning to scale down my company in 2026, I will still be involved with the products and maintain relations with existing customers”.

Torjusen adds: “I would like to express my sincere thanks to Antun for the cooperation and the dedication he has shown Sleipner over the past decades.

“I’m glad to know that Antun will still be around to help navigate the transitional phase. He is a close friend of the brand and the Sleipner family, and I’m glad we found a solution allowing us to keep working with Antun as we’re gradually preparing to take more responsibility ourselves.”

Sleipner has appointed Ivan Kokeza as country manager to lead the new Croatian subsidiary. The subsidiary will include a representation office in Split.

The Croatian operation is scheduled to open during 2026 and will become Sleipner’s eighth wholly owned subsidiary.

Sleipner employs more than 250 people globally and reports an annual turnover of more than €70m.
