Rib-X International nears completion of first defence contract

British RIB and Solas tender manufacturer Rib-X International is nearing completion of a defence contract to deliver and outfit six Solas Fast Rescue Craft rigid inflatable boats for global defence firm BAE Systems.

Rib-X was acquired by Vortec Marine in 2022 and, during that period, has focused on product development. Southampton-based Rib-X designs and manufactures its boats in the UK and supplies both recreational and professional operators.

“We are extremely proud to be nearing the successful completion of this defence contract with BAE Systems,” says Richard Burlingham, director at Rib-X International. “This achievement reflects the skill, dedication, and technical expertise of our team, and we look forward to continuing to support the UK’s defence and security sector with our world-class outfitting and manufacturing capabilities.”

Rib-X International is a UK-based manufacturer of bespoke rigid inflatable boats and open tenders. Its portfolio includes Solas-compliant vessels and projects across defence and commercial sectors. The company holds accreditations including Lloyd’s, Solas, Cyber Essentials, ISO9001 and JOSCAR registration.
