With the 1 June 2026 deadline fast approaching, the BoatUS Foundation for Boating Safety and Clean Water has issued a final call for speakers for its upcoming Turning the Tide summit, scheduled for 6–9 December in New Orleans.
The event will convene government agencies, marine industry professionals, environmental experts, and waste management leaders from across the US to share best practices, emerging technologies, and innovative programmes that address the removal, disposal, and prevention of abandoned and derelict vessels (ADVs) and boating-related debris.
The application deadline for presenters is 1 June 2026.
Interested presenters can apply on the Turning the Tide summit website.
The non-profit foundation is targeting final submissions from presenters with practical experience in:
- ADV removals and vessel turn-in programmes
- Sustainable disposal and recycling solutions for ADVs and boating-related debris
- Initiatives or programs focused on preventing ADVs and boating-related debris
In November 2025, the non-profit BoatUS Foundation for Boating Safety and Clean Water launched a national database designed to identify, track, and document abandoned and derelict vessels (ADVs) across the US, its territories, and freely associated states.
Environmental experts, boating and waste industry leaders, and policymakers are all encouraged to attend the show.
The summit programme will include panel discussions, keynote addresses, and resources focused on ADVs and sustainable disposal solutions for boating-related waste, including fiberglass and shrinkwrap.
Turning the Tide summit is part of the BoatUS Foundation’s broader ADV programme, which aims to remove abandoned and derelict vessels from the nation’s coastal waters and the Great Lakes.
Both the summit and the broader programme are supported by the NOAA Marine Debris Program.
