Rolls-Royce partners with ZF on integrated pod propulsion systems

Rolls-Royce Power Systems und ZF erweitern ihre langjährige Partnerschaft bei Antriebssystemen für die Schifffahrt jetzt auf Pod-Antriebspakete im Leistungsbereich bis 1.250 Kilowatt (1.700 PS) auf Basis von mtu-Motoren der Baureihe 2000 und dem POD 4600 von ZF. Mit dieser integrierten Lösung wird die Manövrierfähigkeit und die Antriebs-Effizienz von Yachten verbessert. Rolls-Royce Power Systems and ZF are now expanding their long-standing partnership in marine propulsion systems to include pod propulsion packages in the power range up to 1,250 kilowatts (1,700 hp) based on mtu Series 2000 engines and ZF’s POD 4600. This integrated solution improves the maneuverability and propulsion efficiency of yachts.
