Honda restructures Power Sports & Products operations

American Honda has announced a restructuring of its Power Sports & Products (PS&P) centre, bringing its powersports, power equipment and marine divisions into a single operating structure to consolidate product planning and sales activities and support future development.

The announcement follows the company’s 2025-2026 financial year, during which the powersports and marine divisions exceeded internal sales targets.

PS&P was established in 2020 and originally included the sales operations and after-sales experience divisions, which supported Honda’s powersports, power equipment and marine businesses. In 2024, marine became a standalone division.

From 1 April 2026, PS&P moved to a business-unit structure comprising powersports, power equipment, marine and sales operations. Under the revised structure, each business division oversees its own sales, service and marketing functions, while sales operations continue as a shared support function across the three operating divisions.

According to the company, the changes will support the continued development of PS&P as a more self-contained North American operation.

Within the revised structure, the marine division will focus on relationships with boat builders, expansion of its dealer network and development of its product portfolio. The powersports division will concentrate on its core business and future mobility initiatives. The power equipment division will continue work on battery-powered lawn and garden products while expanding generator and engine sales and its e-commerce activities.

To support the revised structure, John Stevens has been appointed vice president of PS&P business and sales, while Jeremy McGuire serves as director of sales operations.

Stevens has worked at Honda for 25 years across powersports, power equipment and marine functions, and most recently held the role of director of PS&P sales operations.

McGuire has 27 years of experience with the company, including 23 years in research and development positions before becoming manager of PS&P customer engagement in 2022.

“Building on the momentum of a successful 2025-2026 fiscal year, this evolution of our Power Sports & Products centre will help us strengthen collaboration, accelerate innovation and respond quickly to customer needs,” Stevens says. “By bringing Marine back into the PS&P structure and strengthening our sales and development capabilities, we’re setting the foundation for sustained growth in North America, while remaining focused on enriching people’s lives through fun and convenience.”

Each of the three PS&P divisions is led by a dedicated director of sales, service and marketing.

Bill Savino leads powersports and previously served as director of national sales for powersports. He has more than 32 years of experience in the sector at American Honda.

Barry Dlugasz leads power equipment following his previous role as director of the power equipment national sales division. His background includes more than 30 years in the industry, including 20 years with Honda and 12 years in Honda dealerships.

Josh Matthews oversees marine and most recently served as division director before taking responsibility for the marine division. He has more than 13 years of experience with Honda.

Some functions across powersports, power equipment and marine continue to operate through separate divisions.

Jeremy Merzlak, who has worked at Honda for 25 years and most recently served as director of the aftersales experience division, has been appointed director of the business planning division. In this role, he supports coordination and operational planning across PS&P.

Research and development functions across PS&P have also been brought together within a single development division led by Hideki Hayashi and Camas Reed, who has worked at American Honda for 24 years.
