Marine Components International (MCI) has been appointed the exclusive UK distributor for the Hydrotab Interceptor trim tab system.
Dorset-based MCI provides warehousing, distribution, sales and technical support for manufacturers of marine products. Under the agreement, the company will distribute the patented trim tab system across the UK.
The Hydrotab Interceptor is designed for high-speed vessels and uses a pneumatic system instead of underwater electric motors, gearboxes or hydraulics. According to the manufacturer, the design is intended to reduce maintenance requirements while providing automated trim and stability control. Compressed air actuates compact interceptor blades, allowing the system to make rapid adjustments that influence vessel trim and handling.

“This innovative technology is ideal for high-speed vessels, active ride control and fuel-efficiency optimisation. It particularly targets owners of vessels looking for an instant response and is suited for both upgrades to existing systems, refit and new-build commercial and leisure vessels.”
Hydrotab was developed by company founders Christos and Nick Triantafyllis, who set out to improve stability for high-speed craft. The interceptor system was subsequently patented and is now supplied for both commercial and leisure applications.
