Remoran, a Finland-based technology company focused on marine energy systems, has signed an exclusive US distribution agreement with Bainbridge International.
Bainbridge International operates as a sailcloth manufacturer and marine hardware distributor. The company has more than 10 years’ experience supplying hydrogenerator systems in the US market. Under the agreement, Bainbridge International will manage nationwide distribution and logistics for Remoran products.
Remoran Wave 3 system
The Remoran Wave 3 system is designed to generate electrical power for vessels while under sail. It produces up to 300W of electricity during operation and is intended to reduce reliance on auxiliary diesel engines for battery charging. It is positioned for use in offshore passages and coastal cruising environments.
The system operates as a hydrogenerator that generates power from vessel movement through water. According to the company, performance is not dependent on sunlight or wind conditions, unlike solar panels or wind generators, which can vary in output depending on weather and sailing direction. The system is also designed to operate with low acoustic output.
Installation is carried out via a transom-mounted rail system. Once fitted, the external unit can be attached or removed using a quick-lock mechanism that does not require tools. The unit includes a telescopic blade and adjustable angle settings to accommodate different operating conditions.
At the centre of the system is the Remoran Charger 300W, which automatically detects 12V and 24V battery systems and includes overcharge protection. Users can monitor energy output and system data via a mobile application, RemoranApp, using Bluetooth connectivity.
